What this yard is

About Copart Antelope

Copart runs online salvage and used-vehicle auctions from yards across the country. Its inventory leans toward insurance salvage — collision, theft-recovery, flood, and hail vehicles — alongside clean-title fleet, rental, and dealer-consignment units. Every sale happens online: members preview lots on the web and bid in live virtual sales, and vehicles sell as-is.

The Antelope yard is the Copart presence for Sacramento & the North State — dealers based anywhere in the region register once with the company and buy at this yard in person, online, or both, depending on the sale.

Who can buy

Who can buy at Copart Antelope

Two tiers of access. Registered members of the public can bid on the vehicles Copart marks “No License Required.” The rest of the inventory — most of what a working dealer wants — requires a dealer or other business license on file, or bidding through a registered broker. A California dealer license removes the ceiling: licensed members can bid on every vehicle at the yard, in their own name, without a broker's markup on the buying side.

The license connection

The license comes first — here is the order

Every path into yards like Copart Antelope starts with the California dealer license: the 6-hour pre-license course from an approved provider, the state's 40-question exam at 70%, a $50,000 surety bond in your exact legal name, and the DMV application packet. Both retail and wholesale license holders buy at wholesale and salvage auctions — the wholesale license exists largely for exactly this kind of buying. Our course carries planned launch pricing of $125 and opens when DMV provider approval issues; the founding list is first in.

Antelope questions

Copart Antelope FAQ

Can the public buy at Copart Antelope?

Yes, within limits: registered Copart members without a license can bid on vehicles marked “No License Required.” Everything else at the yard requires a business license on file or a registered broker.

What license do I need to bid at Copart Antelope?

A California dealer license — retail or wholesale — is the standard credential dealers register with. The path is the 6-hour pre-license course, the 40-question state exam (70% to pass), the $50,000 bond, and the DMV packet; our A-to-Z guide walks the whole chain.

Can I buy at Copart Antelope online, or do I have to go to Antelope?

Copart sells online as well as at the yard, so a licensed dealer can bid from anywhere. The yard in Antelope still matters: it is where the vehicles sit, where preview happens, and where winning bidders collect what they bought.
