For first-time dealer applicants
California requires six hours of approved pre-license education before you can sit for the dealer exam. This is that course — 12 sections, 360 minutes, taught as readable prose lessons (with video in production), ending in the 40-question final the license path requires.
Opening soon — DMV provider approval pending. Planned launch pricing: $125. Join the founding list for first access.
Curriculum
The lessons teach in natural prose — the material, the rules, and the reasons — rather than flashing answers to memorize. You read (or watch) each section, work through its checks, and by the final you have actually learned the content the state exam tests.
| Section | Time |

| 6. Titles, Registration, and Plates Title transfer, registration handling, dealer plates and their limits, report-of-sale discipline, and the paperwork that follows every car you sell. | 35 min |

| 8. Advertising Rules What an advertisement must and must not say, price and terms rules, internet listings, and the violations that draw enforcement most often. | 25 min |
| 9. Records, Books, and Inspections The books a dealership must keep, how long records live, who may inspect them, and how to be ready when an inspector or auditor asks. | 30 min |
| 10. Fees, Taxes, and Your Seller's Permit State fees across the application, the seller's permit, sales-tax basics for vehicle sales, and the city business license step. | 25 min |
| 11. Enforcement, Penalties, and Complaints How complaints are handled, what triggers discipline, common violations and their consequences, and how a license gets suspended or revoked. | 30 min |
| 12. Running Legal: Compliance Habits and Exam Readiness Pulling the course together: the compliance habits of dealers who stay licensed, a final review of the most-tested material, and how to walk into the DMV exam ready. | 35 min |

How you finish
When all 12 sections are complete, the final exam draws 40 questions across the whole course. Score 28 of 40 (70%) and you pass. The exam mirrors the format of the state's own 40-question test, so the real one feels familiar.
Pass, and your completion certificate is generated immediately — into your portal and your email, with your actual score. No waiting for mail, no delivery fee, nothing to lose.
Your account is the permanent home of your certificate, your application tracker, and your deadlines. One login for the course, the paperwork, and your renewals for as long as you hold the license.
Bilingual by design
The state dealer exam is administered in English — so a course that only translates everything would set you up to fail it. Instead: lessons are taught in Spanish for full understanding, the English DMV terminology is taught as vocabulary inside each lesson, and the course final runs in English with an explanation-in-Spanish option on every question. You learn the material in your language and meet the exam in its language. Aprende en español, aprueba en inglés. A built-in English–Spanish glossary of dealer and DMV terms lives in your portal.
The course certificate is one step, not the license itself: after it comes the state exam, your entity and DBA, the bond, Live Scan, and the application packet. See the whole path — and when you reach the paperwork, the Template Kit completes it from the same profile.
